About Scar House Gardens

Scar House in 1950

The Scar House Gardens, hidden in the countryside of South Wexford, is known for its picturesque surroundings and is home to Scar House a Georgian farmhouse built mid-1700s. Embarking on a heartfelt endeavour, Nuala and Paul worked tirelessly to convert a once dull concrete farm yard and surrounding field into a stunning array of over 20 breathtaking gardens, each with its own distinctive charm.

Nuala & Paul, both avid gardeners, dedicated years designing and creating various sections within the garden. They handpicked a diverse range of plants and flowers, including vibrant perennials, fragrant roses, and towering trees, to add colour and texture to the different gardens. They also incorporated charming features such as a tranquil pond, Zen garden, tree house, firepit, Mediterranean garden, meandering pathways, and cozy seating areas where visitors can relax and enjoy the stunning gardens.

Story of the Garden

Scar House from Above

Natural, Artistic  & Local

Creating spaces in your garden where nature can take its course is a wonderful way to support local ecosystems. Our gardens are a sanctuary for insects, birds, and other wildlife, offering them a haven to feed, nest, and flourish.

Natural

Scar House gardens are a beautiful blend of design and nature, often reflecting the harmony between the two. Incorporating traditional craftsmanship with a variety of artworks, a testament to the aesthetic and functional values of the garden.

Artistic

Local crafters and artists transform the gardens into vibrant spaces, exhibiting their creative works for all to see. With a strong emphasis on promoting local resources and honouring the artistry of our local artisans, our garden is a true testament to the beauty of our community.

Local

We hope that our garden is a canvas where nature's vibrant colours paint a scene of tranquillity and beauty.

A place where each plant and flower is a brushstroke that contributes to a living artwork. The joy of a garden lies not just in its aesthetic appeal, but also in the peace it offers to the soul, a serene escape where one can connect with the earth and find a moment of enlightenment amidst the hustle and bustle of life.

May our garden be a source of light and inspiration to all who visit. We thank you for visiting our website and hope to see you in our garden soon.

Sincerely,

Nuala & Paul
